City Transportation For all Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) public transportation, we recommend purchasing a Ventra card prior to taking trains or buses. Ventra cards are reloadable cards that allow you to travel about the city. If you run out of money on your card, simply refill via the Ventra App, or use one of the machines located in train stations across the city.  Riding the Train To and From McCormick Place CTA “L” Train routes are designated by colors and terminating stations.  The nearest CTA train stop is the Cermak – McCormick Place Green Line Station. It’s located at the intersection of Cermak Road and State Street, 2 blocks (0.15 mile) from the northwest corner of the McCormick Place West Building – Gate 41- located at Cermak Road and Indiana Ave.   When traveling to McCormick Place from the downtown Loop, make sure to enter the southbound Green Line Cottage Grove or Ashland/63rd Branch trains as indicated on the platform and train display cards. When returning to the Loop from McCormick Place use the northbound platform marked “Harlem/Lake”. The CTA Green Line runs from 4am-1am M-F, and 5am-1am on the weekends.  CTA Bus Connections The #3 King Drive bus is the most common bus route to McCormick Place as it runs north/south along Michigan Avenue, serving many downtown hotels along the Magnificent Mile and Water Tower Place. The McCormick Place South stop is located at 2301 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Chicago and is in front of the main entrance. One-way bus fares run $2.00 each.  Divvy bike Sharing Program McCormick Place is part of the City of Chicago Bike Sharing System called Divvy. Divvy stations are located all over the city, allowing you to rent these bikes and lock them up at the Divvy station closest to your destination.  A 24-hour pass can be purchased at Divvy Bike station for a day of unlimited 30-minute trips. Bikes can be reserved and dropped off at any Divvy station around the city, including the station located in McCormick Square – 2301 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Nearby Fun and Food Chicago Nighttime Riverwalk  Beginning at Wacker & Lake, Ending at Lake Michigan Closes at 11pm Chicago really lights up at night and there’s no better (and free!) way to enjoy the scenery, nightlife, and music than on the Chicago Riverwalk. On Tuesday August 24th, you can see legendary Chicago jam band Mr. Blotto beginning at 7pm, with tickets starting at $10 each.

The Roosevelt Collection is a 1.3 million sq. ft open air shopping mall located in the heart of Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood. The center is comprised of 391,000 sq. ft of retail and dining, and closes at 9pm, so it might be a hot spot to hit after RetailX ends for the day.

After a long day at RetailX, come down and join the party at FatPour. Located right in the McCormick West building, this two-level brewpub ix named for its famous 22-ounce pours, as well as a beer list with over 200 items, an extensive pub menu, & and a ton of TVs for sports fans.

Open 11am-10pm

Never had deep-dish style pizza before? Now’s your chance by heading to Giordano’s offering (in our opinion) the best in the city. Best deep-dish in the city is a hotly debated topic, so if you’re looking to compare offerings, head to Lou Malnati’s just a couple blocks north of Giordano’s. 

Lou Malnati’s is located at 805 S State St.
