Acumatica Summit 2021 Recap: Expecting the Unexpected

21/07/2021 Categories: Articles

Pardon our French, but it was one hell of a year. After a global pandemic that upended the way the world did business, Acumatica Summit 2021 was a refreshing glass of normalcy. It was a little touch-and-go at first (near the beginning of the year, there was uncertainty if Summit would even happen). Still, with the help of the Wynn Las Vegas and their comprehensive Health & Sanitization Plan, Acumatica Summit 2021 was a rousing success full of insightful discussion and community. Keynote Days 1 & 2: Digital Transformation Breeds Resilience Day 1 Keynote Acumatica CEO Jon Roskill began his Day 1 Keynote by stating the theme of this year’s Summit: Resilience. Acumatica stayed strong throughout 2020, but more importantly, Acumatica helped its customers remain strong.  Take Mozaic, a nonprofit /manufacturer that won Acumatica’s Impact Customer of the Year. After being introduced by John Roskill, Mozaic told us their story: They manufacture winter gear for the Army and Navy, with 100% of profits going towards disabled people in the Finger Lakes region of New York.   Early in 2020, Mozaic was planning on migrating their entire company onto Acumatica. However, Covid interrupted the migration. A ransomware attack hit their legacy ERP system to make matters worse, taking down their entire website for two weeks. The only exception was the Acumatica Manufacturing module running at their main warehouse.  After getting their eCommerce site back up, they took advantage of Acumatica’s manufacturing flexibility to pivot their business. They began manufacturing masks for the U.S. prison system, which lacked proper PPE at the beginning of the pandemic. 100% of the profits continued to go toward supporting people with intellectual disabilities. Mozaic is now entirely on Acumatica, safe from ransomware attacks, and ready to get back to their usual business. Thanks to the digital transformation provided by Acumatica, Mozaic was resilient in the face of adversity. Acumatica’s key differentiators set us apart from other industry competitors,” said Jon Roskill. “We innovate our business and industry functionality at remarkable speeds, enabling us to deliver a future-proof platform that elevates our customers to be successful in the modern landscape. Moreover, we have a foundation of unparalleled ethical business practices that put the needs and interests of our customers first. The proof is in the numbers: 99.996% uptime in the past year. 4.8 billion completed transactions.  0 Security and Crypto-Ransom incidents. G2 Users ranked Acumatica Cloud ERP highest in customer satisfaction: Day 2 Keynote To kick off his Keynote, Acumatica Chief Product Officer, Ali Jani, emphasized the importance of aligning with customer needs through Acumatica Industry Editions – Distribution, Manufacturing, Construction, and Retail-Commerce. Customers have jumped at the opportunity to implement the Industry Editions built for their needs; in fact, 78% of Acumatica sales in 2020 were Industry Editions (The other 22% were the General Business Edition).   Next, Jani introduced a series of demos that drilled down into the upcoming features included in the 2021 R2 update.  We saw new features for each Industry Edition through a series of demos and updates to the overall platform. Here are just a few of the most notable additions:  Overall Platform Functionality Integrations with Microsoft Teams and Adobe Document Cloud. Automatic updates with no need for extra coding. A consolidated toolbar that streamlines accessibility to core business processes: New Features Coming To Industry Editions Manufacturing Edition:  Utilization monitoring on production schedules. Improved tracking of the entire manufacturing process to ensure quality control.  Construction Edition: Drop shipment creation via a simplified project workflow.  AP bills and sub invoices synchronization.  CRM and Financials Edition: Simplified reconciliation by matching bank transactions to multiple receipts and disbursements. Improved email tracking, deliverability, and scalability via integration to SendGrid: Retail-Commerce Edition Item Substitutions to ensure on-time fulfillment. Boosting sales with new up-sell and cross-sell features, as demonstrated by SureBet: It was invigorating to see the growth Acumatica ERP is experiencing and learn more about the product enhancements coming in the 2021 R2 release, especially in the Retail-Commerce edition.  – Amanda Wittrock, Kensium’s Director of Product Engagement. Kensium Wins Big At Summit 2021

On day 1 of Summit, we were thrilled and humbled to accept the Retail-Commerce Excellence Award:

Kensium booth

Arriving at the Wynn, we talked amongst ourselves about the “high school reunion” vibe we were feeling. As we set up the Kensium booth and greeted familiar faces, that initial awkwardness almost immediately gave way to excitement.

We began to feel the electricity of over 2,000 attendees. It was exhilarating to feel the face-to-face connection and energy of all the other attendees, and we collectively made a note never to take in-person human interaction for granted again.

As the day went on, we had a fantastic time reconnecting with our excellent partners. Here are some of the highlights:

A delicious and productive breakfast with the ShipHawk team got the day started right:

Kensium’s Amanda Wittrock twinned out in matching glasses with our friend Kristin from VyaPay. Kristin shared that she was extremely pleased with our teams’ collaboration on the new Acumatica-Certified VyaPay Payment Integration:

Our friends from Avante Health Systems stopped by to express their appreciation for the successful Acumatica instance we built for them. They shared warm feedback about our team and lauded us for satisfying all Avante’s implementation goals:

We had a phenomenal chat with the Fusion Software team about the recent Gift Card integration between BigCommerce and Acumatica for Fusion’s OnLoyalty Gift Cards, a winning solution Kensium built implemented for clients Cherry Republic and Klingspor:

Finally, Kensium’s Summit Squad continued to defy expectations on just how good-looking Acumatica partners can be as we posed in front of our new awards:
