Acumatica DevCon 2021 Was Community Innovation At Its Finest

26/03/2021 Categories: Articles

Acumatica has one of the most robust developer communities on the Internet. It’s an open forum where developers can ask questions, share their knowledge, download code samples, and more. Acumatica designed it to help its members increase their knowledge, find answers and engage with other community members worldwide. The community is so innovative and active that new improvements and ideas posted there often make it to the Acumatica xRP Development Platform.  The Acumatica Developer Network’s reputation for innovation was emphasized immediately during the keynote of Acumatica’s fifth annual Virtual Developer Conference. Acumatica Developer MVPs were honored (including Kensium’s own Yuriy Zaletskyy, Naveen Boga, Rahul Gedupudi, Rick Stefanone, and Sharif Ahammad) due to their incredible feedback and creativity in the past year, which drove the prioritization of developing the new features that premiered at Acumatica 2021 R1.  There are three primary themes for Acumatica developers in 2021, and it is driving new developments to the platform:  To showcase improvements on Acumatica’s overall usability, the keynote speaker honed in on a handy new feature during the first demo: Improvements to Side Panels Users can now set up side panels to appear on the

There are three primary themes for Acumatica developers in 2021, and it is driving new developments to the platform:

2021 R1 roadmap

To showcase improvements on Acumatica’s overall usability, the keynote speaker honed in on a handy new feature during the first demo:

Improvements to Side Panels

Users can now set up side panels to appear on the Business Accounts screen to get quick information on different entities. For example, users can set up a side panel that can access the following with a single click of an icon:

  • Customer Accounts
  • Vendors
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Shipping Clients

Create Notifications Using Custom Business Events

The new Business Event Action functionality allows users to create automatic notifications based on specific user actions and thresholds.

Users can create automatic email notifications for anything, including:

  • Support cases
  • Credit hold inquiries
  • Shipping charges
  • COVID-19 rules and precautions

Users can add subscribers for both email notifications and mobile SMS.

System Monitor

This is a set of tools that lets users see everything happening on the system, including business events, user activity, and background processes. If Acumatica is running slowly, System Monitor enables users to get a general view of everything running to locate and close any processes causing a significant slowdown.
